Deed of Trust

Question: why does my 2nd mortgage wants me to sign the Deed of Trust again, after 3 years of purchasing the house?

I'm in the process of trying to work with the bank to lower my monthly payments, when I called my 2nd mortgage & left a mssg regarding my situation, 3 days later we received a call telling us that we needed to sign the Deed of Trust again because it was missedplaced,they said they had nothing to do with the loss mitigation department, after several calls to the bank we come to find out that according to their system we have a baloon loan,but based on the Deed of Trust we have a 15 year fixed, and we know this because we have a copy of it,what happens if we don't sign the deed? we're past due two months, they gave us a two months extension,but are not willing to do a long term fix.pleaseadvise.

Answer: Sounds like they are trying to get you sign on to different terms. I wouldn't do it. Try to sell of finance through another Bank. I hope you get through this alright.
